Centennial, CO, August 21, 2017
Wherever the University of Colorado Buffaloes or Colorado State University Rams roam for their away games, Johnson gets all of their equipment to the field and ready to play. The CU Buffs and CSU Rams are not the only sports teams that Johnson proudly supports both at home and away. Johnson is the official mover for the Air Force Academy Falcons, the Denver Nuggets, the Colorado Avalanche, and the Colorado Rapids. They show their team spirit with full wraps displaying team colors and imagery on the trucks used to haul their equipment.
Moving a sports team’s belongings for an away game—and making sure everything gets back home—is no small logistical feat. Johnson works closely with equipment managers to ensure that everything from helmet trunks to electronics setup make it to the field intact:
The truck is filled with giant trunks…a helmet trunk, locker room trunk, staff clothing trunk, shoe trunk (with grass or artificial turf shoes, depending on the surface the team will play on), game uniform trunk, and a field trunk, which include[s] such items as two folding sideline kicking nets and 43 footballs (25 for practice before the game, 18 for the game)…“For an away game,” [Assistant Trainer Mike Pawlusiak] add[s], “we forget something, we’re in deep trouble. Home games we just run into the locker room and get it.”

“We have a lot of fun getting on the road with our custom team wraps for the trucks. Have you seen them during the season as we head out? It makes such a great statement and not only shows our team spirit, but gets people excited about the upcoming away game.” said Don Hindman, EVP, Johnson. “And we so enjoy giving back to the teams that bring us all together. Sports sponsorship has been such a terrific way for us to support our teams and communities that we’ll be rolling this out nationwide and working to establish sponsorships with teams outside of Colorado.”
This is one of several ways that Johnson gives back to the communities it serves. Besides sports team sponsorship, Johnson Storage & Moving is also a proud sponsor of several Easterseals Colorado events and vocational programs, including the ever-popular Truck Pull held in Centennial, CO in September. The Truck Pull is a “tug of war” between teams of ten, and various trucks ranging from Johnson’s book mobile all the way up to Johnson’s 40,000 lb, 53’ semis. Benefits from the event are donated and this year’s event will feature a guest appearance by Meredith Winnefeld, Miss Colorado 2017.
